Can we pre-program the system prior to installation?
Yes,
and after installation if system is to be monitored, just a click to
contact monitoring centre is all that's need for a test.
What about false alarms?
We understand this is a major problem with any security
system. We have delivered the previous model of the LS-30 to around
three thousand customers using similar sensors with no reported
genuine false
alarms. Big claim but true.
Is LS-30 system approved by insurance companies?
Insurance companies are really not in the position
to approve/disapprove and test every security system in the
marketplace. As long as equipment meets Australian Communication
Authority requirements (ours does)
Most insurance companies (I.E. NRMA, SGIO, SGIC, CGU, SWANN etc)
require you to install at least three sensors and also an external
siren and light.
When programming on the base unit are
there long numbers strings to enter?
No, as you move through the set up just press yes/no to the prompts.
How do you program using the
HyperSecureLink software?
Just connect the RS-232 adapter supplied to a PC and base unit (free
with first order) open the program and select the task you want to do from the
menu, for example, to enrol sensors, select group number, unit or
zone number, click 'Press to start code learning' bar then press
test button on sensor or disarm button on remotes etc. and that's
it.
Do I need an extra phone outlet to connect the console to?
No, you don't need an unused phone outlet,
console has a line in and line out socket, just connect existing
phone to console line out and connect console to wall socket with cord provided.
(Console can also
be used as a hands-free phone) Mode 3 plug is not
needed, base unit has this feature built in, if you connect to first
line into premises, it grabs the line if system is activated.
Can we use a hardwired siren and strobe?
Yes, although you will need to run them via a relay from the base
unit with a battery to power them.
It's much simpler to use our wireless siren and light
which just needs a power point nearby for the 12V/240V adapter. It
has a 30 hour rechargeable back up battery installed. It also has a
tamper switch behind the bracket. If we
wanted to install the system as a fire or medical alarm can you
supply a red wireless siren and light?
Yes.
What type of batteries do the sensors use?
The sensors consume close to zero power. They only need 2 X AAA alkaline batteries and
will alert through the control panel when almost flat. (Batteries last
2-3 years)
Where do you suggest we locate the base
unit?
Base unit can be wall or bench mounted, most wall-mount
installations require you to run cables from the roof down through
the wall cavity. Bench mounted just requires you to connect to phone
or power. (Study? Loungeroom?) Our experience suggests 95% of
customers will have no objection to the latter, making installation
a breeze.
Is there any limit on how many sensors, wireless keypads or
remote controls I can add to the system?
32 remotes and wireless keypads. One sensor per zone, (up to 128)
Is there any limit on how many wireless
sirens I can add to the system?
No.
Can I Access the system remotely
Absolutely, You will need our ethernet
adapter connected to a router (no need to be connected to a PC)
You'll need an ISP account for the router.
How long does the back-up battery last?
There is a built in 10 hour rechargeable
back-up battery in the base unit. There is also an optional back-up
battery which extends to 16 hours. When explained to customers that
back-up batteries are there for when thieves cut power, this won't
be an issue. For someone to have a burglary during a black-out is 1
in a million
What other applications can we apply the
system to?
Nursing homes, you can use up to 32
wristband devices.
Fire alarm, use up to 64 smoke detectors or gas detectors.
(Wireless Red strobe/siren available)
Businesses with refrigeration equipment, install the
temperature sensor for this application.
Automation, use up to 16 appliance or lamp modules to turn
on/off at selected times.
Can the system be monitored?
Yes, it has Contact ID code.
Does the GSM-30 terminal need a back up
battery and adapter?
No, it receives power from the base unit.
Can the GSM-30 take over from a landline?
No, when connected to base unit, all
communication is via the GSM terminal
